SAVING LIVES, ONE BAG OF BLOOD AT A TIME
Grace Church held a blood donation drive on June 11 in partnership with the Philippine Blood Center (PBC). The drive was part of the church’s activities commemorating the Philippine Independence Day.
We have collected a total of 19 bags of blood which will be used to aid women with pregnancy complications, children with leukemia, cancer patients, dengue patients, trauma patients, and other medical cases needing a blood transfusion.
JOHN 25:13

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
Among the 19 successful blood donors include Sister Loren who was not able to donate last year due to anemia and Sister Joyce who was a first-time donor.
Recounting her experience, Sister Loren said she had always wanted to be a voluntary donor but failed because of her low hemoglobin level.
“I used to be borderline anemic kaya I was not sure if I was eligible to donate blood. To my surprise, normal ang aking blood count this year. Praise God!” she says.
Meanwhile, despite being afraid of needles, Sister Joyce did not miss the opportunity to participate in the activity in hopes of saving lives.
In the Philippines, about 450 000 units of blood are transfused every year. To meet the increasing demand for blood, the PBC regularly partners with the community to encourage blood donations.
